22/10/07: To Davids Family & Friends

The Village Business Association & Manchester Pub & Club Network were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of David who died after being attacked on his way home after enjoying a night out in Manchester Gay Village .

I was shocked, angry and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of David. I have fond memories of regularly meeting for coffee, jovially teasing him about his Burnley accent and I'll never forget the time that David, Pete and I went to Big Gay Out 2005 in London.

My deepest sympathies go out to anybody whom has been affected by his passing, and especially to the close friends and family. The only thing to hope for now is that justice will be done, and the monster who took David away in such a brutal manner made to face up to and pay for his crime. It's an absolute travesty that it seems that this was only over a couple of pounds, and incredibly upsetting that David lost his life over it.

Davii, may you rest in peace, and thank you for all of the wonderful memories.

Its been around 2 years since we last spoke, since I moved away. Although we were never the best of friends, we still had some fanatstic times down the village and at the trafford centre (that date we had!), and you'll always be the only person I know who tried to cook a pizza on a plate in the oven. You had a kind spirit and I know Martyn and Katie adored that in you.

I sincerly hope that the heavens are kinder to you than this world has been.

I wasn't priviliged to know David, but I know many of his friends and I have seen how devastated they have been at his loss. I live only a very short distance from his home and was shocked at this brutal crime. I hope the animal responsible is brought to justice, and I hope David's family and friends find some solace in remembering the good times with this clearly much loved friend, son and brother. Rest In Peace David.

It is hard for most of us that are going back to work this week after loosing you David, But I know you are with us giving us strength to carry on, I am positive we are gonna catch the complete scum that took you away from us, he/they will pay for this. Rest now matey and remember we all miss you. x

David, I remember when we first met and we used to all go out and party down Garden bar in Burnley and party at Craigs all the time..! I always rememeber you were very quite but one of the most nicest kindest caring and loving and generous person i met...! I really valued our friendship and you really were there for me...! David I only met you once very briefly on Dominic's Birthday and I am both sad and angry to hear of your murder - a harsh word but that is what is was - a cowardly cold blooded killing. David, although we only met once when I first met Dominic and the other guys back when we were watching the Eurovision song contest at Jon's place. You had a special place in their hearts with your warmth, charm and a heart of gold which shone throught like ray of shunshine. I know how much they loved you and enjoyed your friendship they will remember you forever. You will be sorely missed by all those close to you.

I did not know David, in fact I never met him but I would like to offer my to condolences to all of those who were lucky enough to have known him. I live 5 minutes away from Chorltlon Road and regulary walk home from Canal Street. I just hope that whichever piece of scum committed this awful act is locked up for a very very long time.

David, it was a real pleasure to meet you on many occasions. You were always a friendly, happy and intelligent lad that I will always remember fondly.

I hope justice will be done and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family who I know you loved very much. You are in a much better place and I know you will be missed by many, many people who will always remember you for the great friend you were. Rest in peace.

Thank you Lord, for the life of David, as a Son, Brother, Grandson and friend to Matthew, Dominic, Jon, Nick, Paul, Liam and so many.

Now David is with you Lord in Heaven we ask you to surround him with everlasting Love, Peace and Protection. We Pray he is one of your Angels watching over his family and friends in there lonely time of grief. Show them your love Lord, and may they be blessed with your care at this time. Keep them safe in the knowledge that they carry with them Davidâs love and a lifetime of happy memories that they shared with him here on earth.

I think everyone that ever knew David will know that no one can say a bad thing about him. David was such a caring, considerate, and hugely generous guy with lots of time for all his friends. We will all miss you David and you will have a very special place in our hearts always. xx

Hi David, You have been taken from us so untimely and tragically, you never seem to realise how much you miss and love someone untill they are away or gone, I will miss ya huge amounts and value your friendship, you were quirkey and funny in your own way, I will miss my texts/calls at half ten at night saying can I come and see ya and our trips to Asda and Trafford Centre with Jon.

I will see you again when I pop up to the Gay Village in the sky, keep my seat warm, have a blue WKD for me and keep ya self safe.
